Limited Edition René Magritte Kokeshi
Doll
The Magritte kokeshi is inspired by the legendary Belgian surrealist artist René Magritte, developed in collaboration with the Artists Rights Society and designed by Becky Kemp. The painting 'Le fils de l'homme' from 1964, is one of the most recognizable images in modern art. It captures the essence of Magritte's visionary creativity in a beautifully stylized form.
Originally, Kokeshi dolls come from northern Japan. Typical is the body without arms or legs and the relatively large head. Becky Kemp is the artist behind the Lucie Kaas collection. Her work is inspired by geometric expression, Japanese illustration and Scandinavian aesthetics. At the end of 2015 she started a collaboration with Lucie Kaas. A Danish company that has a great feeling for geometric patterns and wooden objects and represents several designers.
