This is the iconic Converse Jack Purcell sneaker that has fundamentally gone unchanged since the 1930s. It has a durable canvas upper, canvas lining and removable EVA insert for comfort, traditional metal eyelets, rubber-wrapped midsole, classic light-blue rubber outsole, medial-side air vent holes for breathability and the unmistakable Jack Purcell smile on the toe cap.
Jack Purcell Origins
Back in 1935, legendary Canadian badminton champion Jack Purcell was undefeated worldwide—and increasingly frustrated with the quality of badminton footwear. In designing his own athletic shoe, Purcell created a canvas and rubber sneaker with a signature "smile" across its toe—a now-iconic celebration of personal style and casual refinement.
Converse sizing is unique and sneaker specific. The Jack Purcell range usually fits closer to your actual size. Be sure to use the size chart associated with each product.

How to get the right fit
Wear the type of socks you'll wear with your sneakers and measure feet in the afternoon (feet typically swell during the day). Distribute weight evenly before measuring. Stand up straight with you heel against the wall and a place a piece of paper on the floor, flush against the wall beneath your foot. Have someone mark the longest part of your foot (heel to toe length) on the paper. Repeat with the other foot. Measure the heel to toe length you created and compare the measurement to our sizing chart.
